The Cambridge Health Imaging Management Committee (CHIMC)
The Cambridge Health Imaging Management Committee (CHIMC), currently chaired by Professor Martin Graves, was set up with a vision of making imaging in Cambridge an internationally recognisable, financially sustainable, and leading centre for educational and research quality to underpin excellence in translational support to healthcare.
The aim of the CHIMC is to build a community which thinks of ‘our equipment, our research, our patients’, adding to and improving imaging capacity across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, and sharing resources across the University and NHS.
A major focus for the CHIMC and the specialist groups is to achieve greater operational integration between the NHS and University facilities, in order to improve the effective capacity for both research and service by deploying the available machines and technical support more efficiently. Furthermore, the Committee also aims to improve the accessibility of imaging to those not currently using the technology, increasing overall usage.
